PSP I.Sound Theatre With Wireless Remote Review

I bought this accessory for use with my PSP 3000, and I have a warning, as nice an item as this is, right out of the box, it will not work as shown in the picture with a PSP 3000 without modification. I had to use the external cable that came with it to try it out for the first time and was very pleased with it's sound, but my psp didn't fit inside yhe unit, as the flip up plug would not fit my psp and was in the way to get my psp to fit properly. I took care of this problem by modifing it. I first had to remove the back to get inside the unit and release the spring loaded plug, that is suppose to plug into your psp for sound and remote. Now I have the plug so it is free floating so that it can be pulled out of its hole and pluged into a PSP. However this unit evedently was designed for an older model PSP, not the PSP 3000, so the plug won't fit. But I have it to where my PSP 3000 fits very neatly into the unit, by tucking the plug down out of sight. The only problem now, is that I have to use an external plug to get sound, and I can't use the remote. The plug that I had to modify doesn't fit my PSP. The sound through the external jack is quit good however for size of the speakers, top notch in fact, and I have it so it looks good. Fits in the unit just like the picture on the box it came in. I'm going to keep fiddling with it thou and see if I can modify the plug to fit and I think I can so long as the shaft on the plug is the same size as the receptical in my PSP 3000.

My 9-year son received a PSP for his birthday 2 years ago. As far as I was concerned, this was an overpriced, fancier version of the Gameboy - a portable video game player. Was I ever mistaken! He can do so many things with this device, more than just receiving PSP free downloads.

Recently, I saw him playing his Gameboy DS and looking at his PSP. I asked what he was doing playing two games at one time. He told me he was looking up cheats on his PSP for a game he had on his DS. I asked him how he was doing that and that's when I found out the thing has WiFi. He was picking up the wireless router signal in his room from the router in my room, on the other side of the house. Well that got me thinking. This was a much more sophisticated device than I thought. I dug out the manual to see what was "under the hood" and realized now why the thing was so darn expensive. It was quite a powerful computer. Turns out the DS has WiFi, too.

Ok. So I'm slow. He had the thing for a couple of years and now I was finding out about what he could do. Everyone knows what the PSP can do but me. I started researching to see what else it could do and found many sites that supported downloads of different types. This was even more versatile that an iPod. I'm a member of some download sites and a well known DVD-to-home rental company. This company offers streaming movies as part of its service. I wanted to see if I could see these on the PSP. How to Record Your Gameplay From Your PSP

If you're wondering how to record video game play on your PSP then this probably will help you out. The program is Custom Firmware Extender. The new version that comes out now is 2.2 which was recently released by Cpasjuste. The new version fixes bug from the previous version. It fixes bug that prevented playback function from working and other previous issues.

Also the new version has more functionality comparing to the previous one. This allows users to take screen shots from XMB or while playing a UMD game, you can also record your game play videos and access mass storage. Those are just some of the features for the new extender.

The new version works perfectly with 3.90 m33 custom firmware only. Please take note of that.

How to install:

Download the CFE 2.2
Copy the content to the root of your memory stick.
You may adjust the cfe.config. Go to "mso:/seplugins/cfe".
Enable cfe_vsh.prx and cfe_game.prx under the m33 recovery menu in vsh, game and pops.
Set CPU speed to default under the m33 recovery menu.
Push "Note %2B Volume Down" on the PSP to see available commands. (default config)

To Record Game play Video:

On your computer, go to the folder "windowsremotejoy_gui" for linux go to "linuxremotejoy_gui or then launch "start_remotejoy.bat".
On your PSP push the capture button combo (default is Note%2BR).
Get back to your computer then in the remote_gui windows press "c" on your keyboard to start capturing the video. Each frames will be saved as bmp in the capture folder. Make sure that you have plenty of space in your hard disk drive because capturing will take a lot of your space.
Next is to encode *.bmps using your VirtualDub. Google it!

This is the first NFS game i bought for the psp and it is still my favorite. The graphics r the best and r so good they r as good as most ps2 games. It is sort of easy to beat and u get a lot of free cars as u get farther up on the list. The other cars r not that hard to beat but the tracks r really hard. The background is even really good graphics for the psp. The cops r somtimes hard to get past but at least they r on the game for a pourpose. After u beat the game it is kind of boring but u can go back and race the last race on the list or do quick race. This game has excellent music by T.I. and Lupe Fiasco and more. U can customize the cars up more than most NFS psp games but not as much as the ps2. This game is very realistic and fun to play.

If you are a PSP owner you would know that purchasing PSP Games and movie UMD's could get quite costly. If you are like me you have probably tried to find ways around the purchasing cost of these products. I, personally, have searched the internet for countless hours to try and find sites that would offer free PSP games and movie downloads. Let me tell you, nothing in this world comes without a cost.

The very few sites that I found that offer free downloads of PSP games and movies were one of the most horrible experiences I have had on the internet. But it's not only the games, it's the movies, music, themes, wallpapers and so much more. No more worrying about hidden fees, spyware or viruses, just fun and games. Like I said earlier, nothing in the world comes without a cost, but why not pay a very small price that you will pretty much get returned to you with a lot more value than you put in.

For those of u having problems this is the solution: THIS IS WAT U DO: 1st: Go to playstation.com 2nd: Click on north america 3rd: Click were it says [PSP] wait for it to load. 4th: And on the left bottom corner you should see something that says "System Update" Click on it. 5th: And go all the way to the bottom you should see something high lighted [White] that says "Update using a pc" click on it. 6th: Then look for a white box that has pictures of memory cards. Click were it says download now. 7th: Save the file to your desktop [By the way u need a memory card for this]open your psp files. then make a folder called [PSP] if u dont already have. 8th: Then open that folder and make another folder inside your [PSP] folder called "GAME" then inside the game folder make a new folder called "UPDATE". You may be wondering why it matters what version of PSP you have. Well, something you need to know is that in order to play downloaded games you need to downgrade your firmware version and then upgrade to a custom version that will allow you to play downloaded games. You see, you can't just take a PSP out of the box, download a game from the internet, and play it.

The most important thing about the downgrading process is knowing which software to use, which steps to take, and the correct order. Different versions need to follow different procedures and use different software.

Once you have downgraded you can then download games and put them on your PSP as follows:

1. Unzip the game files and save them somewhere that you can find them easily, like your desktop.

2. Plug your PSP USB cable into your PSP and your computer.

3. For PSP games- go the the root directory on your PSP then make a folder called ISO. (If you downloaded PSOne games, go to the root directory on your PSP and find the folder called PSP/GAME.)

4. Copy the PSP game files into the ISO folder. (Copy PSOne game files into the PSP/GAME folder.)

Dungeon Siege Throne of Agony for the PSP lets you play Morgrim the Warlord, Serin the Shadow Stalker, or Allister the Battle Mage in a handheld RPG game.

I've always been a fan of hack-and-slash fun with Diablo and similar games. Dungeon Siege brings this same world to you with lovely graphics. Right from the start it's fairly straightforward. Monsters are in your path. You attack them. They drop shiny loot. You gather it up and move forward. Along the way you get to level up - deciding which skills to improve. You gather up additional weapons and armor, and can customize the things you wear to suit your interests.

The graphics are nicely done on the PSP, but I have to admit most of the time you're really not looking at them. I do like mini-maps in games, but they become a crutch. Most of the time in this game you're looking at the mini-map seeking the next red or blue dot. You miss out on half of the detailed trees or flowers or villages you are walking through. It's much easier just to watch the mini-map to get around corners or more towards potential contacts vs meandering randomly around the actual "drawn" map area.

This game isn't about subtle plots. You go out and gather up X. You go to talk to Y. You need to find some Z. Still, that's half of the fun. You can tuck the game in your pocket for a week or two, then pull it out the next time you're on a long bus ride. It's not like finding your bearings again in War & Peace. It's simply about moving forward with the attacks and gaining some new skills.

They do tease you a bit with the intro cinematics with their lush sound and vocals. You almost expect you'll get that same level in the game, when really there are a lot of talking heads and truncated dialogue. Still, this game isn't about movie quality acting. It's about hacking - and slashing. So it does very well in these areas.

Highly recommended for any Diablo fans who want some casual fun to fill in the boring gaps of their day. There are a lot of little fun touches that make the game fun. Well worth the playing time.

Race Driver 2006 Review

most racing simulator reviews sound eerily similar; "supercharged gameplay" or "feel the crunching of metal!" and before I purchased this, thats exactly what I read as well. Race Driver 2006 for the PSP is, hands down, the BEST racing sim on the handheld today. That may be due to the fact its the ONLY sim racer on the system. Ridge Racer and Burnout give you plenty of arcade fun drifting, but RD06 goes that step further. The only problem though, is the fact that I've already played this game...on XBox. It is a direct, scene for scene and race for race port of ToCa Race Driver 2. Which is on one hand, great because that is such an overlooked racing sim in the shadow of Gran Turismo. On the other hand, I wanted something a little newer. New Tracks etc and a new playing mode fill in that gap. This game looks stunning, as all the ToCa series have.
My only real complaint is the controls. super simplified though they are, all the cars tend to glide a lot more than on the XBox version. which can get very frustrating on laguna seca. precision controls on a handheld gaming system are by default nearly impossible, but this game is really worth the effort. I gave it a 4 for fun, not because it didnt earn a 5, but because i get frustrated by controls very easily. and overall 4 because, as i said, we've seen it all before.

It’s rather ironical since these users are part of the movie watching group who has been fuelling the demand for more movies over the years. Then again, it’s an issue of profits and if you are not paying to rip the movie, they have every right to stop you from doing so.

It seems like users are stuck in a grid lock. Fortunately, smart business people saw the opportunity and established membership sites that offer unlimited PSP downloads of movies, games, music, TV shows, etc. You may wish to know that at these download sites, the movies come in ready to play format. No ripping is needed. Everything from searching to downloading and playing the movie are compressed into a few clicks of the mouse.

Such sites can be found through search engines and you may even come across them at blogs and music forums. Examples are PSP Blender, All PSP Games and others. How To Set Up PSP Internet

The Sony PSP can do more than just play games, movies and music. This hand held machine can surf the internet as well. However, setting up PSP internet is often times the most asked question. I have prepared this simple step by step guide to help you set up your PSP for internet.

Before we begin, you must have a wireless network available and I highly suggest disabling the security encryption (WEP) on the wireless router for your first initial set up since the PSP seems to have problems reading the key. Upon powering up your PSP, make sure that the WLAN switch is turned on. Use your directional pad to go to the settings icon on the far left of your PSP screen and scroll down to the network settings icon.

From the network settings, highlight the "infrastructure mode" and click to enter. The next page will ask you to select a connection to edit. If this is your first time setting up a connection, just go ahead and click [new connection]. You will then be directed to the WLAN settings page and there should be four options.

There are a couple of ways to do this, but the easiest way to set up your internet connection is to click on the first option to allow your PSP to automatically scan for the nearest and strongest access point, which should be your router. This should take a couple of seconds. Your PSP should display your SSID information as well as the security and signal strength. Click on your SSID.

Then use the directional pad to scroll to the right to go to the WLAN security settings. Since we have disabled your security settings for your online network, just highlight none and proceed to the address settings page. In the address settings page, highlight "easy" and go to the next page.

The next page allows you to create a name for this connection. Feel free to name this connection anything you want. Once you enter the name of your connection, you will be able to preview your settings list which should show the connection name of your SSID, your security settings and IP address. Scroll to the next page and save your settings. Once your settings are saved, click to test internet connection.

Now go online to test the connection, we must go back to the desktop and go to the network icon on the far right. Find internet browser icon and click to open browser. If you get a blank page, click on the triangle button to open the browser menu. Congratulations and hopefully you are ready to surf the internet. I hope this has been helpful in setting up your PSP internet connection.

You're an average guy right? So it can't be rocket science. Don't worry, I'll show you my quick and easy way to make a slam dunk.

Here are the quick steps that will make this very simple for you. No sweat.

But you have to have some tools to get this job done. Now I'll tell you what you have to have:

1. DVD Ripper

2. DVD Player On Your Computer

3. PSP Video Converter

4. USB Cable

5. 512 MB Duo Stick Pro

Here is how to get started.

A. Put in your DVD and start up your DVD ripper. Then choose your movie or video your want to put on your PSP. Select extract or rip and choose where you want to save your file.

B. You can just use the add button on your DVD ripper if you already had something on your computer that you wish to put on your PSP. Then choose your "save to" destination.

C. If you now have a file saved on you computer select extract or encode on your PSP video converter and then save.

D. I suggest that you get yourself a nice DVD Ripper/PSP Video converter combination software that will make the whole process easy for you in three easy steps.

Once you have the file save on your computer in the correct format just connect your PSP to your computer using your USB cable and then create a folder on your Memory Stick called "MP-Root."

Make a sub-folder called"100MNV01". Copy only your MP4 files into this folder.

TMNT Review

I gave this to my grandson as a Christmas gift. He was excited about it because he loves the turtles! He was a little upset when he thought I got the wrong format...PSP. He asked santa for PSP and this was on Christmas Eve. My son hadn't told me that Santa was bringing the actual game system rather than from himself. It's ok... Today I am going to share with you the simple process for downloading MP3s onto your PSP. Once you understand these simple steps you will be well on your way to downloading MP3s to your PSP with ease.

Here Are The Basics:

The simplest way for you to download MP3s to PSP is by using a USB cable in order to connect your computer with your PSP. If you don't have a USB cable you should be able to find a cheap one at your local electronic store.

Once you have your USB cable ready you will need to plug it into the PSP and your computer using the USB port.

Side Note: Please make sure that you 'enable' the USB connection on your PSP. To do this simply go to the menu screen on your PSP and click on the system settings, then when you see the USB connection click 'enable.'

The gaming community was certainly improved in 2005 when Sony introduced the PSP. What a great little system this is, especially compared to what was available at the time. With the PSP you are able to play amazing games, share pictures, listen to music and best of all watch movies. Now the only problem that arises in watching movies is that they have to be encoded in a certain format to be able to watch them on the PSP. How do change the encoding?

I'm going to give you my easy recipe for putting movies and video on your PSP, it's really quick so don't worry. This recipe is short and sweet.

What you'll need:

1. 512MB Pro Duo Stick (this is where your movie will be stored)

2. DVD player installed in your computer

3. DVD ripper (this actually puts the DVD into playable files on your computer)

4. PSP video converter (this puts your movie and video files to MP4 format this is the format the PSP needs them in to be able to play them, you are able to find software that combines the ripper program and converter program)

5. USB cable

Now that you know what you'll need, let's get started

1. Put your DVD into your computers DVD drive, start up your DVD ripper program, select the movie that you want to put on your PSP and hit the "extract" or "rip" button. Select where you want to save the file to.

2. If the file's already on your computer all you need to do is "add" from your DVD ripper and tell it where to save it.

3. Select the saved file from youir computer and hit the "extract and/or encode" button from the PSP converter program and save that file.

I love all the Silent Hill games, since the first one came out. I was thrilled to see that they added this game to their arsenal. It is a great game, and a great plus is that you can pick up almost anything in the game to use as a weapon (i.e. IV stands, TVs, etc.). How to Get Online With the PSP Using a Wireless Router in 7 Simple Steps

The Wi-Fi connectivity of the PSP holds many exciting features from allowing you to play games online and with your buddies, exchanging pictures, and even browsing the internet, which just proves that the PSP is more than just a simple handheld games console. Setting up the PSP to browse the internet is a lot easier if you have a wireless router connected. Once connected you can follow the 7 simple steps outlined below to get connected.

Step1 - Go to Settings and then select Network settings

Step2 - Select Infrastructure Mode and start a [New Connection]. By setting up in Infrastructure Mode, you will be able to take advantage of the more exciting features of the PSP, such as browsing the Internet and playing games online with your friends.

Step3 - Access the WLAN Settings and select scan to search for an SSID of nearby access points. If you find more than one access point, simply connect to the one with the strongest signal.

Step4 - Once an SSID is found, select it (make sure you don't rename it) and move to the WLAN Security Settings. You should note that if the access point is using WEP encryption, you will need to enter the WEP key manually (when the access point is detected, it will display the type of encryption it is running. WEP key should be displayed on your router. If it displays none, simply move onto the next step.

Step5 - Now you have a couple of choices of either Easy or Custom in Address Settings menu. I suggest you selecting the Easy option which will complete the Infrastructure Mode set-up automatically.

Step6 - Choose your Connection Name and enter it. A Setting List will be displayed. Press x button to save settings.

Step7 - Test Connection to make sure everything works. If all is okay, Network Settings will display Connection Name, Signal Strength, SSID, BSSID, Channel, Security and IP Address.

I saw this game on Amazon.Com & didnt expect seeing it while i went shopping today at Best Buy. I didnt want to open the game until i found a good review online. Bought 2 of these for my kids' PSP 3000s. Though less costly than some of the other protectors, this one does what it is supposed to to do and is relatively to install if one is patient. According to the packaging these protectors also fit 1000 and 2000 series. They are made in Japan.

Prior to installing, grab a roll of scotch tape. You will need it to remove any pesky lint particles that land on the screen or stick to the sticky side of the sheet. With tape nearby and your hands grease free you are ready to install a protector:

Step 1: Get that screen clean. The included cloth is relatively lint free; so it does a good job if you use mild eye glass cleaner.
Step 2: Peel off the side of the film with the curved tab. Now you've exposed the sticky side.
Step 3: Carefully line up either the left or right side of the protector with the screen.
Step 4: Carefully apply even, light pressure to the protector progressing from one side to the other. Air bubbles, lint, and dust are the enemies. Even a tiny piece of dirt or lint will create an air bubble.
Step 4(a): If you get a bubble caused by lint, follow the instructions to carefully lift off the protector (using the scotch tape). Once that's done, use the sticky tape to dab off the lint or dust; kind of like the tape lint rollers. I was amazed at the darn lint that kept showing up in different places. This product would best be applied in the clean room of a semiconductor factory.

I found a soft, silicone spatula to be very effective at allowing me to apply smooth, even pressure (used it like a squeegee) to get rid of the bubbles not cause by lint. I have to admit, though, I gave up on getting all the lint bubbles out. When I would remove two or three, another would show up elsewhere on the screen. Though I can see the bubble when the PSP is off, when the screen is lit the bubble is invisible. I can't knock the protector for the lint caused bubble because I am certain I have could have eventually removed all the lint and dust. Of course, that probably would have required me to complete the installation in the buff wearing a hair net. All in all, I am very happy with the protectors and the way they look after installation.

Bleach Heat the Soul 6 Review

First and foremost, this is an import title and you will need a guide to play it if you don't understand Japanese. If you have played any other games in this series then you should have no issues. All of the menus are in English as well so navigating through different modes is no problem, there is a good guide on gamefaqs that will help you learn the basics and unlock characters. The presentation and layout of this game is excellent, very polished and simple. Graphically I am completely amazed, all of the characters look like they were ripped straight out of the show, the backgrounds are all spot on as well. Plenty of music from the show is in here as well as voice acting by the cast of the anime. This is the largest roster in a Bleach fighting game to date, pretty much everyone you would expect is here. Several Vaizard are included as well as most of the Espada, some of the former Espada and a few other Arrancar thrown in for good measure. Aizen and company in their fancy new duds to boot...and Tessai from the Turn Back the Pendulum arc. As this game just came out in May, a few characters are not yet playable as their abilities had not yet been revealed in the manga or on the anime. Barragan and Starrk are out unfortunately, Hallibel is included though which is a nice touch. Ulquiorra in his second released form and Ichigo's released Hollow form aren't here either...but the next installment is sure to have them all...sweet. The animation is as fluid as I've seen on the PSP, not a trace of slowdown. Load times are minimal which is tragically rare on the PSP. Gameplay is very simple, easy to learn but it will take time to fully master. You can get away with button mashing for the most part if that's your style, you'll need to hone your skills to unlock everything though. There are tag battles if you wish, arcade mode, vs cpu mode, training mode etc etc. If the price you see here doesn't jive with you...which it shouldn't...you can get this from several different import sites or snatch it up on ebay for much less money. If you are a Bleach superfan, and you almost certainly are, BUY IT.
